Sounders Women Import Australian U-2
TUKWILA, Wash. – The Seattle Sounders Women have signed Hannah Brewer, an Australia U-20 International, for the 2013 W-League campaign. Defender, Hannah Brewer joins the Sounders Women as an overseas import from the Newcastle Jets of the Australian professional league.
Hannah Brewer spent four seasons with the Newcastle Jets, of the Australian W-League. In 2009 she became the youngest player ever signed to the club, at age 15. The outside-back appeared 29 times for the Jets in the next four years.
Although Brewer is just 19 years old, she carries experience representing her country, playing with a professional team, and moving abroad to join the Sounders.
Hubert Busby Jr. said, “She has tremendous poise and maturity for a player her age.”
Hannah Brewer, 19, is from Blue Ray on the Central Coast of Australia. Following her debut for Newcastle, she also represented Australia in the U-17 World Cup. In 2012 she added to her credentials with a cap for the Australia U-20 National Team.
